Utilizo chrome (dev channel) en mac osx lion y de vez en cuando intenta acceder a chrome.googleechotest.com en el puerto 80 (EDIT: ¡y otros puertos!).

Alguien sabe cuál es el problema con chrome.googleechotest.com?

Suena como si fuera una prueba de eco de Google para Chrome. El whois (abajo) apunta a Google, Inc. Parece que se usa para enviar estadísticas de conectividad de red a un servidor de Google para el ~ 0.5% de los usuarios. .

Un eco en este contexto solo significa si envía un mensaje simple a una computadora remota si recibe una respuesta. (Similar al mensaje ping / ICMP).

EDITAR: vea el excelente comentario de Graham Hill a continuación para deshabilitar esta función en Chrome (en Configuración, Bajo el capó, desmarque "Enviar automáticamente estadísticas de uso e informes de fallos a Google" o texto similar.)
